So this is my first knife made with M390 Stainless Steel. I want to make some knives in these types of materials because not everyone wants to worry about caring for a High Carbon knife.
8-inch Chef knife - 220g
2.2mm spine thickness flat ground at 1.2 degrees with a micro-bevel to strengthen the edge.
Steel is Bohler M390 - Stainless Steel
The handle is made of a Stabilized palm tree with Resin and a black G10 Spacer, hand sanded to 400grit and coated with beeswax to lock everything in and protect the wood. During the making of the knife, I made a mistake in both shaping the handle and the blade and there are blemishes that I cannot easily remove. I’m not sure if I’m going to leave them (that’s why I’m calling this knife Rustic) but I do want to get some seat time with a 3rd Generation super steel and put the time in.
