So this might be the most beautiful knife I've ever seen in person. The addition of the brass spacers in the handle added a bit of depth and tied the mosaic pin into the rest of the build. This is truly stunning.
6.5-inch Chef knife - 202g
1.9mm spine thickness flat ground at 1.1 degrees with a micro-bevel to strengthen the edge.
Steel is 512 layer Damascus of 1095 and 15N20 with a hardness of 60HRC +/-1
The handle is made of a Stabilized Black Ash Burl with Resin Hybrid, hand sanded to 1000 grit, and hand polished and coated with beeswax to lock everything in and protect the wood. There are 0.5mm Brass spacers placed on either side of the tang to add another metallic color to tie the piece together. And to hold the whole piece together is a brass and aluminum mosaic pin which just adds that touch of sophistication.
I'm kind of speechless, to be honest.
I'm debating making a better leather sheath (that was my first attempt) or another wooden Saya.
