This one was a gift for the work wife

So this was the first one I actually gave to someone

So as I’m starting this adventure my work wife said something in passing (not knowing I had really started this process saying she wanted a new folding knife and she needed to pick one up. I advised her that she don’t and to let me see if I can make one. Now I don’t have the means yet to fully make a folding knife but I’m sure someone had a kit out there, and they do. In fact, there are a few brands of them online.

So I got to work and I know her favorite color is purple and I love the look of a natural purpleheart so I ordered some scales and got to work. I learned the purpleheart will heat up quickly and become more of a brown color and since my sanders are constant speed I didn’t have much choice for the stock removal.

The kit came in the blade was okay. so I sanded it up to 2000 grit by hand and put a proper edge on it and boom the rest is history.

She ended up wanting a knife with the tab on the blade to make it easier to open so I made her a different one and got this one back.
