The First

This is the one that started it. I bought a blank on eBay, it had this nast black coating on it so I started to clean it up and I realized that my 1x30 belt grinder was going to take forever so I bought a 4x36 grinder and it speed up the process towards the end. I slugged on. And the finished project is a glorious German-style knife, but the edge geometry isn’t great and my bevel isn’t uniform I found that it dulled quickly and I blame the “high Carbon Railroad steel” It is hardened as it broke a drill bit and it is high carbon as it formed a lovely patina with all the citrus I was cutting. But I found it too heavy and kept gravitating toward my Miyabi Kaizen II 8-inch chef’s knife.
